Divided Hearts

Ever wonder why
Parents fight over their children
Who is to say, in fairness,
which is the best parent
Who can judge fairly, the better parent
How can we judge
Who is to win
Who is to lose
For the only one to lose is the child
Their world, is shattered
Their hearts, torn
What was, is no more.
Each should think
Never having to choose
Never having to become second
The love of a grandparent is great
But it can never replace,
a mothers love, the strength of a father
Why try to take away,
something that was not yours to begin with
Each should become one
All a family
Let our children,
have what we had or wanted to have

Where is the best place for my child
Choose for them, not for you
Being Father, Mother or Grandparent
Does not give the other the right,
to say we are better
Think about your child
What is best for them
You gave them life,
brought them in this world
Now make it the best place you can
Stop fighting, only thinking of yourself
Think of your child
Not yourself
You have had your time
Now give them theirs
