Wisdom
I ask myself why didn't I do
All the things my Mom
Taught me to do
Was I too young
Only to grow old
Learning the hard way
Instead of doing as I was told
Why didn't I listen
To the words of wisdom
That my Mom told
Thinking I was smarter
Just learning it was harder
Being so bold
Why didn't I realize
How could I not see
Mom's greatest gift
Was to love and protect me
To teach me all that she knew
Would make my life easier
If I only knew
I look back now and see
She was always there for me
I will try and remember
Never to forget
Mom's words and teachings
Will guide me through.
