My Heart

In my heart there were
bleak and lonely places.
You came into my life
like rays of sunshine.
Blood of my blood,
On wings of angles
You were my light
at the end of a dark tunnel.

There have been many hard times,
as well as good times
To have you by my side,
has given me hope
when there was none.
Friendship to ease the loneliness

Side by side,
we fight the hardships together.
Together we stand tall and proud.
I will always be there
as your mother and friend

When there was shame, you praised me
In sadness, your arms comforted me
Tears, your hands soothing them away
Happiness in a circle of love
You are my daughter, my friend.
