No Greater Joy to fill the arms of your child around your neck Those tiny lips, kissing your cheek. Watching them grow, from a tiny person to an adult Hoping to shield them from all life's hurts and pains Learning each day, how to improve their life Making it better than your own The pain you feel, having to correct them Hoping to keep them from making the same mistakes, you did Never knowing if you are right or wrong in your directions Never letting them know you don't know how to fix things that are wrong. We never know if we have done a good job For we blame ourselves, if their lives go wrong. We can only guide them, never control them Just try and remember, we do the best we can never claiming to be an expert in life. Always keep in mind, we try to teach them right from wrong We can't make them do as we taught them Keep in mind, they are their own person with a mind of their own. Don't blame yourself, if things turn out wrong. Just keep trying to guide and protect them Always be there when they fall Like we did, when they were small They are our children, our flesh and blood Never something to just enjoy trying to control Let them be themselves. Just enjoy them while you can Never forget God gave them to us To take back, when he needs them Always let them know, you love them for who they are, not what you expected them to be. They are each different, we can love them differently All they ask, is to just be loved and wanted. Do the best you can, with what you have That's all we can do, and pray for the best Love, Shield,Comfort and Protect them As long as you can. Ann Taylor Home
