To You, From Me

To whom it may concern:
Here's wishing you well.
I got your nice letter but
You forgot to sign your name.
You said I owe you money,
But I'm inclined to disagree.

I told you to come pick up that
Piece of junk I bought from you.
When it fell apart you failed
To honor your guarantee.
You said it wasn't your fault
And you blamed it all on me.

I may not be real smart but
You don't make me afraid.
When it comes to right, my word
Is as good as your guarantee.

It would seem you're out of luck,
Because I'm sure down on mine.
I just checked my pockets
And I'm down to my last dime.

If you're not real happy
With the way this all turned out
Perhaps I'll make you another offer,
It couldn't do much harm.

Would you like to be my partner
And sell your guarantees?
We'd just have to do it different
And sell them all for cash.
I'm sure we wouldn't want
To make the same mistakes.

In the meantime I'm here waiting
For you to write me back.
Have a nice day.

Sincerely,
Me
